Lincoln Highway Photos

Here are some old and new photos from along the road.

The Lincoln Highway east of Breezewood, Pa., Oct. 2001, from an abandoned section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. This section was replaced in 1968 to bypass two tunnels - leading to the destruction of the well-known hilltop stop, Bill's Place.

A 1994 tour I led stopped at this Greensburg-Pittsburgh Turnpike milepost in Jacktown, between Irwin and Circleville.

These long-gone lanes were next to the ingleside Diner. Turillo's still operates in Jennerstown.

Craig Harmon visited the History Center in Pittsburgh, August 2001, as he made his way cross country.
